XVI national science festival «Erdvėlaivis Žemė» [Spaceship Earth]

Annual event, which started in 2004 and takes place in three biggest cities of Lithuania – Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda. It is most important and biggest cluster of popular science events and spread into more than ten cities. During series of diverse hands-on activities (lectures, demonstrations, excursions, exhibitions, which now annually exceed 300) each September more than 30 000 participants visit all main universities, laboratories of the biggest technological companies, such as TEVA/”Sicor Biotech”, “Thermofisher Scientific Baltics”, “Ekspla”, other innovative companies, museums. Children of all ages, schoolchildren and families are taking part at the concomitant open air events.

Marine Research Institute is presenting Copernicus, EO-based Marine monitoring, Land monitoring for natural and anthropogenic hazards. Students will be offered a first introduction in the opportunities available by the set of data available from the Copernicus missions, such as Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2. Following the presentations, the students will have the opportunity to test the knowledge they acquired through an informative game-based learning platform.
