In 2019 delegations from almost 50 countries including the GEO co-chairs – United States\, China\, South Africa and from the European Union – will join with leaders from the geospatial\, space and technology industry. DESCRIPTION:Copernicus “Eyes on Earth”\nThe ‘Eyes on Earth’ Roadshow lets you explore how satellite information can help improve operational applications such as climate & weather\, mobility & transport planning\, renewables\, air quality\, fresh water availability and distribution\, smart farming\, financial risk management and critical infrastructure. \nThe Roadshow will inspire you about the many applications of space data (both in business and government)\, let you explore hands on how space data can be applied in your daily life or work environment; and provide you with the tools to act. \nThe ‘Eyes on Earth’ Roadshow especially wants to encourage interest in the space and Earth observation amongst young people\, students and would be entrepreneurs; demonstrate exciting careers opportunities in this industry; and help those trying to grow their business to be even more successful through the use of space data. \nThis will be done through a series of five highly interactive events in five different EU Member States from June 2019 to March 2020. \nThe programme is a combination of masterclasses and business & technical lectures\, combining learning and doing. The masterclass uses a canvas developed by the Netherlands Earth Observation Cluster and has been successfully applied in several Dutch public authorities and private companies. The programme also includes an exposition of services providers\, start-up companies\, an interactive and fun exhibition and a dedicated tool for matchmaking. Below are the dates and locations for the five roadshows (dates and locations for Romania and Italy to be confirmed).

DESCRIPTION:Copernicus: lo sguardo dell’Europa sulla Terra [Copernicus: the eyes of Europe on the Earth]\nIn the framework of the BRAINCITIES (Boosting ReseArch Inside CITIzens communitiES) project IMAA is organizing a related event during the 2019 European Researchers’ Nights initiative of the European Union funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (BRAINCITIES – H2020-MSCA-NIGHT-2018). The event will take place at the new Campus of the University of Basilicata\, in Matera\, on September 27\, 2019. \nA full program of initiatives will animate the Campus with lectures\, workshops\, exhibitions\, and shows. The main objective is to raise awareness among the general public of the importance that research may have in facing common problems and general issues. Among the research activities that will be presented during the event\, satellite Remote sensing and Earth Observation (EO) topics will be part of the program. In particular\, satellite data\, products and solutions\, with a specific focus on the EU flagship EO program Copernicus\, will be presented during the event\, from both representatives of TeRN/CNR (partner of CorDiNet) and Unibas (partner of CopHub.AC). \nThe EU Copernicus User Uptake Initiative will be also addressed during mini-talks and face-to-face meetings. Moreover\, an EU corner will be established\, where the Copernicus program and the two SpaceHub Coordination and Support actions (CoRdiNet and CopHub.AC) will be presented to the general public. A very different audience will attend the meeting: scholars\, university and PhD students\, professors\, researchers\, representatives of Local Regional Authorities and Small/Medium/Big Enterprises\, individual citizens as well as of local/national news and media.
